Lightning hurts 4 in Quezon

SAN ANDRES, Quezon – A family of four was injured in a lightning strike in Sitio Racudo, Barangay Talisay here on Monday night, Nov. 21.

Police identified the victims as Marivic Urtal, 43; and daughters Annarose, 19; Annabel, 12, and Annamarie, 16, all students and residents of Sitio Racudo.

Investigation showed that the victims were about to have dinner at 6 p.m. when lightning hit their house.

Marivic and her daughters were taken to the rural health unit for body pain and are under observation.

There was no electricity and the victims were using the flashlight of their cellphones to light their dinner table when they were struck by lightning.
