Isabela to celebrate Bambanti Festival in January next year


CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela -- The provincial government of Isabela will resume all activities of the Bambanti festival set on the last week of January next year, with the theme 'ISABELA, Pagharap sa Bagong Hamon ng Kinabukasan.'

This time will be more exciting after a two-year pause of celebrating the annual festival due to Covid-19 pandemic.

The Bambanti Festival 2023 will highlight LGU-contested events on Bambanti Booth, Bambanti Scarecrow, Street Dance, Dance Showdown, Festival King and Queen, Makan ken Mainum.

The festival will be capped by a Search for Queen Isabela 2023.

Sports activities and medical missions will also be conducted throughout the week-long celebration.

Gov. Rodito Albano III designated Vice Gov. Faustino ‘Bojie’ Dy III as Director General of the 2023 Bambanti Festival Celebration pursuant to Executive Order No. 38, signed on Nov. 15, 2022.

The last Bambanti Festival was celebrated in January 2020.

The Bambanti festival is a thanksgiving of the Isabelinos for the rich agricultural harvest.

Launched in 2000, the festival is a tourism, cultural and heritage event promoting the province as the country’s top corn producer and ecotourism destination.
