Four more barangays in Zamboanga declared drug-cleared


ZAMBOANGA CITY -- Four more barangays in Zamboanga City have been declared drug-cleared by the Regional Oversight Committee on Barangay Drug-Clearing (ROCBDC) during a deliberation on Monday, Nov. 21, at the Zamboanga City Hall.

The barangays of Mangusu, Tumitu, Taguiti, and Panubigan were declared drug-cleared after a presentation made by their respective barangay officials of their anti-illegal drugs program and documentary evidence on rehabilitation of drug-affected individuals.

The four barangays joined sixteen other villages previously declared as drug-cleared. One barangay has been declared as unaffected.

The drug-cleared barangays in Zamboanga City are Licomo, LImaong, Sibulao, Tictapul, Tigbalabag, Calabasa, Cacao, Lapakan, Tolosa, Landang Laum, Lanzones, Pasilmanta, Lumayang, Capisan, Dulian, and Pamucutan.

The only barangay unaffected by drugs was Pangapuyan.

The meeting was attended by Mayor John Dalipe, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region 9 Director and Regional Oversight Committee on Barangay Drug-Clearing chairman Emerson Margate and the concerned barangay officials.
