The Provincial Government of Bulacan (PGB), through the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), has distributed relief goods to more than 12,068 Bulakenyo families who were affected by Typhoons Karding and Paeng.
Katrina Anne B. Balingit, Provincial Public Affairs Office chief, said the relief operations were conducted on the instruction of Bulacan Governor Daniel R. Fernando to PSWDO Head Rowena J. Tiongson which started last November 18, in the town of Calumpit. A total of 7,358 families received food packs including Barangays Panducot, Sta. Lucia, Bulusan, Gatbuca, and Iba O’ Este.
Balingit said that an additional 4,710 affected families also received food packs last Saturday, November 19, from Barangays Tibaguin, Sto. Niño, San Juan, and Palapat from the town of Hagonoy.
The distributed food packs contained four kilograms of rice, assorted canned goods, and instant noodles.
Fernando urged Bulakenyos to be prepared, saying that the pandemic is not yet over and natural calamities may happen anytime.
"Kami naman po sa Pamahalaang Panlalawigan ay patuloy na magkakaloob ng magandang serbisyo sa mga Bulakenyo sa abot ng aming makakaya,” (We, in the Provincial Government of Bulacan, will continue to serve you the best way we could)," Fernando said.
