BTS’ Jungkook back in South Korea after performing at FIFA World Cup in Qatar

K-pop idol group BTS member Jungkook returned to South Korea on Nov. 21 after performing the official soundtrack at the opening ceremony of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

From Qatar, Jungkook arrived at the Seoul Gimpo Business Aviation Center (SGBAC), an “exclusive terminal for business jets,” and was welcomed by fans and the media.

He showed his South Korean team football shirt, which was given to him when he met with them in Qatar.

The FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 opening ceremony was held on Nov. 20 at the Al Bayt Stadium.

Jungkook took center stage and performed “Dreamers,” a song included in the official soundtrack of the FIFA World Cup. He was joined by Qatari singer Fahad Al-Kubaisi in the performance.

After his performance, he held a Weverse live broadcast and said he was nervous.

"Not gonna lie, I was so nervous after I came down from the stage. I learned the choreography right after my arrival in Qatar. I learned the last chorus part just a day before the stage, and I learned the rest by watching the video and adding my own color to the stage," he said, SBS News reported.

He added, "Before going to bed, I also rehearsed by myself in my hotel room while playing the music on. I can't say I was fully satisfied (with the stage), but I enjoyed it without making a big mistake. Thanks to the fans, I was able to gain a lot of confidence."

Jungkook also revealed that his in-ear monitor had some issues while he was performing resulting in not being able to hear himself sing.

He was the first Korean singer to sing the official World Cup theme song. The opening ceremony ran for about 30 minutes with “Dreamers” as the main performance.
