Three wanted persons were arrested by members of the Pasay City Police Warrant and Subpoena Section (WSS) in separate operations on Monday, Nov. 21.
Col. Byron Tabernilla, city police chief, identified the suspects as Benedick Tacderas,18; Jomari Tupan, 27; and Joel Javier, 31, all residents of Pasay City.
Tabernilla said Tacderas, tagged as No. 4 wanted person facing a rape case, was nabbed by police operatives at around 3:15 p.m. on Leveriza St. in Pasay City.
The police chief said Judge Jeilan Sampao Hassiman of Pasay City Family Court Branch 11 issued a warrant of arrest against Tacderas on Oct. 6, 2022 for two counts of rape without bail.
Tabernilla said the suspect was accused of raping a 14-year-old girl on Dec. 31, 2021.
He said Tupan, the No.8 wanted person with a carnapping case, was apprehended with the help of the SPD Highway Patrol Team at around 3:35 p.m. at the corner of 17th and 12th Streets, Villamor Airbase, Pasay City.
Tabernilla said a warrant of arrest was issued on Oct. 18 against Tupan by Judge Marjury Almoera Madrid-Songandan of Regional Trial Court Branch 117 for violation of Republic Act 10883 (New Anti-Carnapping Act of 2016) with recommended bail of P300,000.
According to Tabernilla, Tupan was arrested on Sept. 24 after a complainant brought him at the Villamor Airbase Police Sub-Station for stealing his motorcycle and helmet using a fake key.
Javier, the city police’s No. 9 wanted person facing charges for violation of RA 7610 or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act, was collared at 4:20 p.m. at the corner of Roxas Boulevard and Hernandes St., Pasay City.
Tabernilla said a warrant of arrest was issued against the suspect also by Judge Hassiman on Oct. 6.
He said the three arrested suspects were all confined at the police custodial facility.
The police official thanked the public for giving information that led to the arrest of suspects.
