TECO extends $400,000 aid to storm victims in Cagayan, Isabela


CITY of Ilagan, Isabela – The province of Cagayan and Isabela received $200,000 (about P11.4 million) each from the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) in the Philippines for victims of tropical cyclone “Paeng.”

Manila Economic and Culture Office (MECO) Chairman and Resident Representative Silvestre H. “Bebot” Bello III, with Taiwan representatives to the Philippines Eric Lim and Obayashi Oshimune, handed over a check for $200,000 to Gov. Rodito Albano III in a ceremony at Balai, Capitol Compound, Alibagu on Nov. 19.

The Isabela provincial government said this will help their reconstruction efforts from Paeng which lashed the province last month.

Albano thanked Bello for facilitating the assistance. Isabela had been the recipients of livelihood programs when Bello was Labor Secretary.

Another check for $200,000 was given to Gov. Manuel Mamba for Paeng victims in Cagayan.
