Most parts of the country will have rainy weather on Monday, Nov. 21 due to the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) and shear line, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

PAGASA said cloudy weather with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms may prevail over Palawan, Quezon, Aurora, Isabela, Cagayan, Albay, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Sorsogon, and Masbate.

It warned those in these areas to stay vigilant against possible flash floods or landslides during moderate to heavy rains caused by the ITCZ and shear line.

ITCZ is a line where winds coming from the northeast and southeast hemispheres converge, while the shear line is an area where warm and cold air meets.

Meanwhile, PAGASA said the rest of the country, including Metro Manila, will have partly cloudy to cloudy weather with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.

The public is also advised to be vigilant against possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms, which are often accompanied by sudden heavy rains, lightning, thunder, gusts of wind, and sometimes hail.
