QCPD apprehends 10,174 violators in week-long anti-criminality ops
Quezon City Police District (QCPD) director Brig. Gen. Nicolas Torre III announced on Monday, Nov. 21, the apprehension of 10,174 violators in a series of anti-criminality and anti-illegal drug operations conducted in the city from Nov. 14 to 20.
The QCPD said that during the operations, they collared 81 illegal drug suspects, including 37 users and 44 pushers, and confiscated 103.57 grams of “shabu” worth P704, 276; 13 grams of alleged marijuana and kush valued at P4,120, along with several drug paraphernalia.
They also arrested 39 most wanted persons, 24 wanted persons, and 61 for illegal gambling.
Police also said that 9,969 individuals who violated city ordinances such as jaywalking, littering, urinating, drinking alcohol , and smoking in public places were either charged, fined, or warned.
The QCPD chief lauded his men for the successful operations against crime and illegal drugs.
“Asahan po ninyo na hindi titigil ang kapulisan ng Team QCPD sa aming anti-drug at anti-criminality operations upang tiyakin ang seguridad, kapayapaan, at kaligtasan ng ating mga kababayan ( Expect that Team QCPD will not stop in our anti-drug and anti-criminality operations to ensure the security, peace, and safety of our people)," Brig. Gen. Torre III said.
