Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna inspected the newly redeveloped zoo located along Adriatico Street in Malate, Manila on Monday, Nov. 21 prior to its opening.

The admission fee for Manila residents is P150, and P100 for students. For non-residents, the entrance fee is P300, and P200 for students. There is also a 20 percent discount for senior citizens and PWDs. Children below two years old get free admission.

The zoo now features an animal museum, a botanical garden, and a butterfly garden.

“Manila Zoo also provides home to more than 550 specimens of exotic wildlife representing 13 species of mammals, 38 species of avian, and 21 species of reptiles,” the zoo said on its website.

Manila Zoo was shut down in 2019 after it was tagged as a major pollutant of Manila Bay.

In December last year, the soft opening was held and later served as a vaccination site for Covid-19.

It was temporarily closed in June to complete its renovation.
