Three of the leading cast members of the movie Maid in Malacañang will grace a special event at the House of Representatives this coming Wednesday, Nov. 23.
On Wednesday, the House will launch its two-day "Garage sale for a cause" that will be carried out for the benefit of the many worthy causes being supported by Association of Women Legislators Foundation, Inc. (AWLFI).
Slated to attend the opening day of the bazaars are actresses Ruffa Gutierrez, Christine Reyes, and Karla Estrada.
Although their names didn't appear on the promotional poster of the event, their participation was announced in the House via public announcement system on Monday morning, Nov. 21.
The three showbiz personalities were part of the Maid in Malacañang released in theaters earlier this year. Gutierrez played the role of Imelda Marcos, the wife of the late former president Ferdinand Marcos and the former First Lady of the Philippines; while Reyes handed the role of Imee Marcos, the eldest daughter of the Marcos couple.
Estrada, on the other hand, portrayed Santa, one of the three titular maids of Malacañang Palace. The Darryl Yap-directed drama proved to be equal parts popular and controversial to audiences during its theatrical run due to its subject matter.
The bazaars, which will be held at the north wing lobby of the House, will reportedly feature a wide variety of local foods, garments, handicrafts, jewelries, health and body care products, Christmas decorations, furniture, and other gift items.
Also on sale will be pre-loved clothing, bags, shoes, accessories, and more. This is the third iteration of the Garage sale for a cause.
Chaired by Tingog Party-list Rep. Yedda Marie Romualdez, the AWLFI has 86 members in the current 19th Congress.
