The OCTA Research Group on Monday, Nov. 21 said seven provinces have registered “very high” or above 20 percent Covid-19 positivity rates over the past week.

Positivity rate refers to the number of individuals who yielded positive results from among those who were tested for Covid-19.

In an update shared on Twitter, OCTA fellow Dr. Guido David said OCTA observed very high positivity rates in the following provinces as of Nov. 19.

Isabela (49.4 percent)

Tarlac (37.7 percent)

Camarines Sur (35.2 percent)

Aklan (34.9 percent)

Benguet (24.7 percent)

Misamis Oriental (20.9 percent)

La Union (20.7 percent)

Meanwhile, David said that Metro Manila’s positivity rate “remained about the same” at 7.6 percent on Nov. 19, from 7.5 percent on Nov. 12.

The World Health Organization recommended that the positivity rate should remain at 5 percent or less to show that the spread of the virus is under control.
