The intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ)—a line where winds coming from the northeast and southeast hemispheres converge—may continue to bring scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over parts of Luzon and Visayas, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Sunday, Nov. 20.
In the next 24 hours, cloudy weather with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms may prevail over Oriental Mindoro, Occidental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Nueva Ecija, Aurora, Quezon, Bicol Region, Northern Samar, and Eastern Samar.
PAGASA warned those in areas affected by the ITCZ to stay vigilant against possible flash floods or landslides during moderate to heavy rains.
Meanwhile, the low pressure area that brought rains over some parts of the country on Saturday, Nov. 19, has already dissipated.
PAGASA said the rest of the country, including Metro Manila, will have partly cloudy to cloudy weather with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms in the next 24 hours.
However, the public is advised to be vigilant against possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms, which are often accompanied by sudden heavy rains, lightning, thunder, gusts of wind, and sometimes hail.
