A roll-on/roll-off (ro-ro) passenger vessel collided with a motorbanca in Batangas City on Sunday afternoon, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) reported.

MV Stella Del Mar, which is being operated by Starlite Shipping, accidentally rammed into an unidentified motorbanca around 2 p.m., according to a report from the Coast Guard Station Batangas.
The incident occured off Matuco Point, approximately 500 meters from the shoreline of Brgy. Pagkilatan.
According to PCG, the ro-ro vessel came from Calapan Port in Oriental Mindoro and was on its way to Batangas Port when the incident happened.
The motorbanca was manned by three fishermen who were saved by the crew of the ro-ro, the PCG said.
Photos and videos circulating on social media showed the motor banca was completely destroyed due to the impact of the collision.
Meanwhile, the extent of damage to the ro-ro vessel was being assessed by the authorities.
An investigation was underway to determine the exact cause of the collision.
