PH Red Cross distributes over 280K liters of water to 'Paeng'-hit communities in Laguna


The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) on Sunday, Nov. 20, said that it has distributed 286,300 liters of clean and potable water to typhoon Paeng-hit communities in Laguna.

"PRC installed a water bladder in Alonte Arena Evacuation Center Biñan, Laguna, providing 20,000 liters of water to 731 displaced individuals," PRC said.

The organization added that a total of 2,868 individuals from Dela Paz Main Elementary School and Saint Francis Covered Court evacuation centers also received 24,000 liters of water from its water tankers.

PRC staff and volunteers also conducted clearing operations in Canossa School in Barangay Kanluran Santa Rosa, Laguna using its payloaders to make the roads accessible again after the typhoon onslaught.

Moreover, PRC said that it also distributed hot meals and bread to 511 persons in the Barangay Dila evacuation center last Nov. 15.

Forty families also received sleeping kits and 192 families received hygiene kits from the organization.

"PRC Welfare Services, under the Psychological Support System (PSP), provided psychosocial services to 47 persons and Child-friendly Spaces (CFS) to accommodate the needs of 136 affected children," it added.

PRC assured that it is continuously assisting Paeng-affected families nationwide.
