The Manila Electric Company (Meralco) has announced power interruptions in some barangays in Caloocan, Valenzuela, Quezon City, and some municipalities in Bulacan province starting Monday, Nov. 21.
Meralco said there will be power interruptions in GSIS Hills Subdivision in Caloocan City and Doña Marciana Subdivision, Hobart Village 2, Barrios Compound, Sitio Ulok and Toyota North Epifanio Delos Santos Avenue (EDSA) Service Center in Barangay Ugong, Valenzuela City from 11 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 23 to 6 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 24.
Some portions of Barangay Dalandanan, Valenzuela City will also experience power interruptions including A. Marcelo St. near the areas of MacArthur Highway to Lorenzo Compound between 11 a.m. on Wednesday and 4 a.m. on Thursday due to relocation and facility upgrading activities.
Meanwhile, Meralco said it will also turn off electricity at Filinvest 2 Road from Batasan to San Mateo Road and nearby areas of Capitol Hills Christian School in Quezon City from 11 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 21 and 4 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 22, due to reconductor line works along the area.
Some parts of barangays Bagbag and Talipapa in Novaliches, Quezon City were also included in the scheduled power interruptions including Quirino Highway to Del Mundo Drive, Mindanao Avenue, and North Luzon Expressway as well as subdivisions of Villa Florencia, Del Nacia Ville 3, St. Dominic Phase 9, and Villa Sabina from 11 p.m. on Wednesday to 6 a.m. on Thursday.
The other subdivisions in the area including Arty, Cadaing, Carreon, Gloria, Jem 7, Pleasantville, Silvina, San Agustin, Solville and St. Martin Village will also experience power interruption between 11 p.m. on Wednesday and 11:30 p.m. on Thursday.
Meralco said that establishments in Barangay Talipapa, Novaliches including Jollibee, Chowking, Mercury Drug, Placido del Mundo Elementary School, and Man Automotive Concessionaires Corporation, will also experience power interruptions during the same time and date.
It said the power loss is due to the relocation of facilities affected by the construction of the Metro Manila Subway Project (MMSP).
Some municipalities in Bulacan province are also scheduled power interruptions, including San Miguel, San Idelfonso, and Malolos City.
Lubao St. to Pan-Philippine Highway, San Miguel National Highway and Quijano St., will lose electrical supply between 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. while barangays San Gabriel, Liyang, and Catmon in Malolos City between 12:01 a.m. to 5 a.m. on Tuesday.
San Idelfonso town proper and its barangays Sapang Putol, Anyatam, Garlang, Lapnit, Makapilapil, Mataas Na Parang, Nababaong Garlang, San Juan Sta. Catalina Bata and Matanda and Barangay Salangan in San Miguel will lose electricity between 1:30 a.m. and 2 a.m., and from 6 a.m. to 6:30 a.m on Saturday, Nov. 26 due to electricity testing in Meralco- San Miguel substation.
All residents in the affected areas were advised to charge their electronic devices in preparation for the power interruption, Meralco said.
