Police nab suspect in EPD's unified drugs watchlist in Pasig

Elements of the Eastern Police District (EPD) announced the arrest of a man included in its unified drugs watchlist on Oct. 31 in Barangay Kapasigan, Pasig City.

The police identified the suspect as Jomil Alcantara, 43 years old, and a resident of San Miguel, Pasig who has an outstanding warrant of arrest for Violation of Art II Sec 5 and Sec 11 of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Alcantara was arrested following a buy-bust operation conducted by the EPD in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) wherein a police poseur buyer was able to purchase shabu from the suspect.

Confiscated pieces of evidence from Alcantara included plastic sachets containing shabu, including the item purchased weighing 18.98 grams with an estimated value of P129,064 and the buy-bust money.

The suspect was brought to the EPD-District Drug Enforcement Unit (EPD-DDEU) office for proper documentation and filing of cases while the recovered pieces of evidence have been turned over to the PNP Forensic Group for examinations

"Acting EPD District Director Col. Wilson Asueta commended the joint operatives for their dedication and commitment to duty by effectively identifying and locating the whereabouts of wanted persons and intensifying buy-bust operations to end their drug operations. Further, he encouraged them to ceaselessly maximize their police operations and arrest those who violate the law," the EPD said.
