LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Police caught 26 wanted persons and destroyed marijuana totaling P6.7 million in a two-week Simultaneous Anti-Criminality Law Enforcement Operation (SACLEO) from Oct. 15 to 31 in Benguet.
Col. Damian Olsim, Benguet police chief, said 14 loose firearms were voluntarily surrendered and 31,180 fully grown marijuana plants, 4,500 marijuana seedlings, and 3,000 grams of dried marijuana leaves with a total standard drug price of P6,776,000 were discovered and destroyed in nine eradication operations in the municipalities of Bakun and Kibungan.
Two street-level individuals were arrested in buy-bust operations and 290 milligrams of suspected shabu worth P1,972 were seized from the suspects.
One illegal cockpit ring was dismantled and bet money was seized from four persons in two operations against illegal gambling.
The SACLEO is in line with the peace and security framework of the police dubbed ‘’Malasakit, Kaayusan, Kapayapaan, and Kaunlaran’’ against criminality, illegal drugs, and terrorism.
