Solar streetlights put up in Benguet sitio for safety of residents

MANKAYAN, Benguet – The Benguet Police Provincial Office has put up five solar streetlights for the safety of residents in Sitio Dong-as, Barangay Cabiten, this town.

Five streetlights were installed by the Benguet PPO under the Pailaw Project on Nov. 15.

Col. Damian Olsim, Benguet PPO chief, said the streetlights were turned over to officials of Barangay Cabiten on Nov. 17.

The 1st Benguet Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC), the Eastern Benguet Provincial Explosive Canine Unit, Philippine Army, and barangay officials joined hands to erect the streetlights funded by the 1st Benguet PMFC Funshoot 2022 and supported by Mayor Honorio Banario Sr. and Councilor Rey Manuit here, Ronald Kimakim of the City Advisory Group for Police Transformation and Development (CAGPTD), and other stakeholders.

The project was launched by the Benguet PPO to bring light to far-flung areas and deter crimes in this province.
