Pasay City gov’t to launch ‘Pasay Padyak: Moving Forward as One Eco City’

The Pasay City government will launch “Pasay Padyak: Moving Forward as One Eco City” as part of the weeklong celebration of 150th Pasay Day on Dec. 2

Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano said the activity will be held on No. 26 at the SM By the Bay at 5:00 a.m.

Rubiao is inviting all bike enthusiasts to join the activity by registering at the Mayor’s Office.

The registration is from Nov. 18 to Nov. 25, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

She said the activity is open to all Pasay residents and workers aged 18 years old and above, who are using mountain and road bikes.

The mayor said participants must wear proper attire (individual, group or organization bike uniform). There will be marshals on the lookout for cyclists without helmets.

Rubiano said bike kits and certificates will be given to all registered participants.

She said the city government is discouraging persons with pre-existing conditions such as heart problems, or who have poor health, from joining the activity.

The mayor said all participants are encouraged to bring their own water container or tumbler.

In case a bicycle accidentally gets a flat tire or breaks for whatever reason, a support vehicle will assist the cyclist and bring him/her to a safe place, according to Rubiano.
