CEBU CITY — Suroy-Suroy Sugbo, the flagship tourism program of Cebu province, resumed on Friday, Nov. 18, after a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic.

Suroy-Suroy Sugbo marked its return with a three-day escapade dubbed Southern Heritage Trail from Nov. 18 to 20.
Cebu Gov. Gwen Garcia leads a delegation of foreign and local tourists touring 22 cities and municipalities in the southern part of the province.
The three-day tour will showcase the tourist sites, cultural, social, and culinary treasures of the places that will be visited.
“This is the first Suroy-Suroy that we will hold after two years. That’s why we will pull out all stops. All systems go, let us help each so we can have a very successful Suroy-Suroy Sugbo,” Garcia said in a meeting with tourism officials a few days before the kick-off of the event.
The last Suroy-Suroy Sugbo was held in Bantayan Island in November 2020.
Signaling the start of the Southern Heritage, three buses carrying local and foreign tourists left the capitol here early Friday morning and made its first stop in Minglanilla town.
From Minglanilla, the tour proceeded to San Fernando, Sibonga, Argao, Dalaguete, Alcoy, then to Boljoon where guests are staying overnight in resorts.
The second day of the tour will begin in Oslob and guests will spend the night in Moalboal.
The tour’s final day will begin in Alcantara and will end in Talisay City.
