Municipal councilor in Quezon shot dead

DOLORES, Quezon -- A municipal councilor here was gunned down before dawn on Friday, Nov. 18, in Purok 2, Barangay Dagatan, this town.

Police identified the victim as Orlando Barsomo, 47, single.

Initial investigation said that the victim was walking around 3:15 a.m. when he was shot in the head by an unidentified gunman.

Barsomo died on the spot and the suspect fled.

Lawmen have yet to determine motive and identity of the suspect.

Police are conducting a manhunt and follow-up operation.
