K-pop group Tomorrow X Together to attend American Music Awards for the first time

K-pop boy band Tomorrow X Together (TXT) will be attending the 2022 American Music Awards (AMAs), which will be held on Nov. 20 (Nov. 21 in the Philippines) at the Microsoft Theater at L.A. Live in Los Angeles.

The AMAs announced on Nov. 17 about Tomorrow X Together’s appearance at the music awards show, a first for the group.

“Favorite K-Pop Artist nominees @TXT_members will be attending their very first #AMAs red carpet,” the AMAs posted on Twitter.

Tomorrow X Together tweeted, “We are very excited to attend AMAs on Sunday.”

The AMAs introduced Favorite K-pop Artist as a new category this year. The first nominees in the category are BLACKPINK, BTS, Seventeen, Tomorrow X Together and TWICE.

The performers at the AMAs this year are GloRilla, Stevie Wonder, Charlie Puth, Ari Lennox, David Guetta, Bebe Rexha, Dove Cameron, Anitta, Lil Baby, P!NK, Carrie Underwood, Imagine Dragons, J.I.D, Yola, and house DJ D-Nice.

The winners of the AMAs are all voted by fans. Nominees in 37 categories were selected based on key fan interactions through Billboard charts including streaming, album and song sales, radio airplay, and tour grosses.

These were tracked by Billboard and Luminate covering the eligibility period of Sept. 24, 2021, to Sept. 22, 2022.

BTS also got nominated for Favorite Pop Duo or Group along with Coldplay, Imagine Dragons, Måneskin and OneRepublic.
