DPWH completes 3 flood-mitigation projects in Pangasinan

SAN Carlos City, Pangasinan -- The Department of Public Works and Highways-Pangasinan Fourth District Engineering Office has completed three flood-mitigation projects on the Agno River in Barangay Salinap and Barangay Guelew and San Juan River in Barangay Turac here.

District Engineer Simplicio D. Gonzales said the 201-linear meter project in Barangay Salinap was completed on Aug. 26.

The project in Barangay Guelew was completed on Sept. 8 and is 231-linear meters long.

The project in Barangay Turac was completed on Sept. 2 and is 218.7-linear meters.

The projects were funded by the General Appropriations Act of 2022 and will protect residents of San Carlos City and nearby municipalities from flood.

They will also protect crops and prevent soil erosion which contributes to downstream flooding.
