Young girl killed in Gensan fire

GENERAL SANTOS CITY – A six-year-old girl was killed in a fire that razed their house in Barangay Lagao here early Wednesday morning, Nov. 16.

Senior Fire Officer 1 (SFO1) Perfecto Roda of the Bureau Fire Protection here said the victim, Casey Pantenople, was sleeping alone when the fire struck at around 4 a.m.

Her parents were not around as they were in the public market selling vegetables.

Neighbors informed her parents about the fire through mobile phone without knowing that she was inside the burning house.

Arson investigators suspect faulty electrical wiring as the cause of the fire and have yet to determine damage to property.
