Tricycle driver nabbed for stabbing man to death in QC


A tricycle driver was arrested shortly after he allegedly stabbed and killed a man on Bustamante Street in Barangay San Isidro, Quezon City on Wednesday evening, Nov. 16.

The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) identified the suspect as Julius Labriaga Macaranas, 28, of Sampaloc, Manila

Members of the Galas Station (PS 11), who were conducting anti-criminality patrol along Luzon Avenue in Barangay San Isidro, immediately went to Bustamante St. when they heard two individuals arguing at around 11:40 p.m.

The cops responded and saw the victim, Micheal Pamandanan, 36, lying on the pavement, bleeding.

Macaranas, who was seen standing beside the victim while holding a knife, ran when he saw the policemen.

The police chased and arrested the suspect. Recovered from him was the knife he allegedly used in stabbing the victim.

Pamandanan was rushed by the cops to the United Doctors Medical Center where he was declared dead at around 12:30 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 17.

The QCPD said the victim sustained multiple stab wounds in the chest and left arm.

The incident is still under investigation.

Appropriate charges will be filed against the suspect, the QCPD said.
