P12-M DPWH embankment project in Cagayan almost complete

SANTA PRAXEDES, Cagayan – A P12-million embankment protection project that will protect hundreds of residents and millions in properties from flooding here is almost complete, the Department of Public Works and Highways-Cagayan Second District Engineering Office (DPWH-CSDEO) said.

DPWH-CSDEO OIC District Engineer Rellie S. Dalmaceda said Thursday, Nov. 17, that the project on Salongsong Creek in Barangay Salongsong that started last March is 95 percent complete.

Dalmaceda said that the project is awaiting final inspection from the CSDEO-Inspectorate Team for possible defects that must be rectified to pass DPWH standards.

The budget for the 302-linear meter gabion type revetment protection was taken from the Basic Infrastructure Program (BIP) under the 2022 General Appropriations Act.
