12 centenarians get P100,000 each from provincial gov't of Negros Occidental
BACOLOD CITY – Twelve centenarians in Negros Occidental received P100,000 each from the provincial government on Tuesday, Nov. 15.

The recipients were Margarita Juros of Escalante City, Adelina Armenteros and Ana Gucio of Sagay City, Virginia Ayuno, Mamerta Cabataña, Brigida Galleron, and Ramona Locsin of Cadiz City, Herminigilda Donasco of E.B. Magalona town, Generosa Guimbal, Esterlina Ortega, and Sarcepuedes of Talisay City, and Sixto Cerna of Murcia town.
The provincial government holds recognition for the centenarians every Nov. 5 coinciding with the celebration of Cinco de Noviembre in the province. However, the program had been suspended for two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson led the turnover of the cash gift to the awardees during his visit in some of these localities.
Board Members Araceli Somosa, Samson Mirhan, Sixto Pal Guanzon, Manuel Frederick Ko, and Andrew Montelibano also led the turnover of cash assistance in the presence of Cadiz City Mayor Salvador Escalante, Jr., Sagay City Mayor Narciso Javelosa, and Murcia Mayor Gerry Rojas of Murcia, local Social Welfare and Development Offices, and Provincial Social Welfare Development Office.
