PWD mauled to death in Cagayan

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan -- A Person with Disability was allegedly mauled to death on Campos St., Barangay Caritan Norte here on Monday, Nov. 14.

Lt. Rose Taguiam, police information officer, identified the victim as Andres Macapia Jr., 55.

Witnesses told police that the victim, a resident of Barangay Atulayan Sur here, had a heated argument with an unidentified person before he turned up dead.

Police conducted follow-up investigation on the cadaver of the victim and noticed signs that he was mauled, his head hit with a rock, and beaten with a sharp object.

The victim was a shoe repairer and was on his way home after having dinner when he was attacked.

Police are checking surveillance cameras in the area for the possible identification of the perpetrator.
