LOOK: Jiu-jitsu world champ Aleia charms congressmen, including Sandro


Five-year-old Aleia Aielle Aguilar, who recently grabbed headlines by becoming the world's youngest jiu-jitsu champion, visited the House of Representatives plenary hall on Wednesday afternoon, Nov.,16.

Naturally, the House members--presidential son Ilocos Norte 1st district Rep. Sandro Marcos included--were helplessly charmed by the cute and yet also badass athlete.


As she interacted with congressmen, Aleia proudly wore the medal she won in the kids' 1-Under 16-kilogram category at the 2022 Abu Dhabi World Jiu-Jitsu Championships--the most prestigious jiu-jitsu competition on the planet.

Aleia was accompanied to the plenary her proud parents Alvin Aguilar, founder and president of the longest-running Filipino Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) promotion Universal Reality Combat Championship (URCC); and Maybelline Masuda, the first Filipino jiu-jitsu world champion.


Marcos is the House senior deputy majority leader.
