LOOK: Daniel Padilla's mom Karla Estrada uplifts mood of Navotas fire victims


The office of House Speaker Martin Romualdez has doubled down on its desire to give immediate relief to victims of the huge fire that struck a residential area in Navotas City on Monday night, Nov. 14.

This, after Romualdez and Tingog Party-list's Director for Community Engagements "Mamshie" Karla Estrada led on Wednesday morning, Nov. 16 the distribution of relief goods to the 600 families displaced by the recent fire in Barangay Bagumabayan North.

Estrada is the mother of popular actor and recording artist Daniel Padilla.

Distributed to the families were rice, vitamins, medicines, mosquito nets, blankets, towels, bath and laundry soaps, napkins, diapers, slippers, and hygiene kits.

"Ito po ang misyon namin, ang lagi kayong aalagaan lalo na sa panahon ng pangangailangan (This is our mission, to always care for you especially in times of need)," Estrada said.

On Tuesday, Speaker Romualdez turned over to Navotas lone district Rep. Tobias “Toby” Tiangco some P5 million in cash donations to help the fire victims get back on their feet.

At least five persons died while two others were injured in the blaze.
