Businessman arrested for illegal possession of firearm, prohibited drugs in Tarlac City
CAMP FRANCISCO S. MACABULOS, Tarlac City -- A 43-year-old businessman was arrested after the authorities found a gun, a grenade and an undetermined amount of shabu during a search operation in his house in Brgy. San Nicolas in this city on Wednesday morning, Nov. 16.
The raiding personnel of the Tarlac City Police who were armed with search warrant issued by Regional Trial Court of Camiling, Tarlac City, on Nov. 10, 2022, arrested the subject identified as Almen Ampaso, a.k.a. ‘Disimban,’ 43, of the Brgy. San Nicolas, San Carlos City.
The Tarlac City police seized from him a .38 revolver without serial number and loaded with six bullets, 15 ammunition of caliber. 45, a hand grenade, 10 transparent heat-sealed plastic sachet of suspected shabu and a weighing scale.
Lt. Col. Jim Helario, Chief of Police in Tarlac City, said the implementation of the search warrant against the suspect was done in coordination with the barangay officials of Brgy. Nicolas, Tarlac City.
The suspect is now the subject of investigation for selling unlicensed firearms and illegal drugs in Tarlac City.
The suspect and the confiscated pieces of evidence are now under the custody of Tarlac City Police for proper disposition.
