AirAsia Philippines will increase its flight frequency to Hong Kong to three times weekly starting December, scheduled every Tuesday, Friday, and Sunday.
This should cater to the peak in inbound demand triggered by the travels of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) for the holidays.
Over 188,000 Filipinos are currently working in Hong Kong as of August 2022.

Servicing mainly OFWs and business travelers from the city, AirAsia Philippines ends Q3 2022 for its Manila-Hong Kong route with a 70% load factor – signaling the uptrend in demand toward end-year.
“Hong Kong remains to be among the leading hosts of OFWs in Asia," noted AirAsia Philippines Chief Executive Officer Ricky Isla.
"Our guests can expect more flights to and from more AirAsia destinations very soon as we aim to achieve our pre-pandemic international operational capacity by the first half of 2023.”
In support of the increase in frequency, AirAsia is offering a low one-way base fare of Php 1,411 from November 14 to 17, 2022 for travels happening until 31 May 2023.
Guests with AirAsia flight bookings to and from Hong Kong up until 17 December 2022 can also change their flight dates without any additional charge via the airasia Super App and website.
New flight dates can be selected until 31 December 2022, providing greater flexibility and convenience.
The Hong Kong government recently scrapped the compulsory quarantine for inbound travelers, and instead implemented a three-day medical surveillance – subject to Amber Code restrictions under Vaccine Pass.
