Tamayo takes oath as CAAP chief


Former pilot Manuel Antonio Tamayo took his oath as the director general of the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP).

Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Jaime Bautista administered the ceremony on Tuesday, Nov. 14.

Tamayo is an licensed pilot with 42 years of experience in the aviation industry. He started his career after graduating from the Philippine Air Force (PAF) flying school in 1975.

Prior to being the Director General of CAAP, Tamayo was appointed by former President Rodrigo Duterte as Undersecretary for Aviation and Airports under the Department of Transportation (DOTr).
