LAGUNA – A security guard was arrested for robbing a convenience store in Cabuyao early Tuesday morning, Nov. 15.
Cabuyao City Police Station (CPS) identified the suspect as alias Razul, a resident of Guinyangan, Quezon.
Initial investigation shows the suspect bought cup noodles in the convenience store at 4:30 a.m.
Upon approaching the cashier, however, the suspect pointed a knife at crew on duty Ricardo O. Calimoso and asked him to drop flat on the ground.
Alias Razul carted away money from the cash register, amounting to P3,050, before fleeing to ride a jeepney to the direction of Calamba City.
Calimoso ran after the suspect while crying for help, resulting in the arrest of alias Razul and the recovery of the stolen money.
Barangay Public Safety Officers Noel de Lara, Delfin Antioqia, Danilo Llagas, and Eric De Juan, who acted as arresting officers, turned over the suspect to Cabuyao CPS.
In a statement, Laguna acting provincial director Col. Randy Glenn G. Silvio commended the concerned citizens and force multipliers who helped in the arrest of the suspect.
