MB Daily News Update: PH tourism on the rebound

The country’s tourism sector has earned at least P100 billion since border restrictions and health protocols due to the Covid-19 pandemic were eased in Feb. this year, according to Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia-Frasco, who noted that this was mainly due to the arrival of more than two million tourists in the past eight months.

This was all the more validated after the Philippines was adjudged as the world’s best beach and dive destination in the 29th World Travel Award (WTA) held in Muscat, Oman.

Christmas came early for the more than 1.7 million regular government workers, who already got their yearend bonus.

Meanwhile, a health expert from the Department of Health (DOH) assessed that the Covid-19 pandemic may be nearing its endemic phase.

The details for these major reports are but a click away in MB’s roster of stories this Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2022.

THE DAY AFTER – Forlorn and seemingly hopeless, residents can only gaze at their burnt homes from the sea wall at Barangay Bagumbayan North in Navotas City on Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2022, a day after a giant blaze razed through their community that left five people dead, two injured and over 440 families homeless.
