DOH reports 1,071 additional Covid-19 cases


The Philippines monitored 1,071 new cases of Covid-19 on Tuesday, Nov. 15, the Department of Health (DOH) said.

In the past 14 days, the National Capital Region logged the highest number of new cases with 2,876.

It was followed by Calabarzon with 1,736 cases, Western Visayas with 1,421, Central Luzon with 1,020, and Central Visayas with 939.

With this, the country's running tally of confirmed infections rose to 4,020,240 with 19,940 patients still battling with Covid-19.

Of the total, 3,935,880 cases were tagged as recoveries while 64,420 were deaths.

"Decline in cases, ICU (intensive care unit), and severe/ critical admissions have slowed down in recent few days," the DOH said.

The country's hospital bed occupancy rate was 24.3 percent with 6,921 occupied and 21,616 vacant beds.

"As wearing of mask are now optional, the more we need to get vaccinated and boosted as these remain to be our best-defense against Covid-19," the DOH said.
