Yuka Saso shot a closing 2-under-par 68 to place at joint 13th in the Pelican Women’s Championship in Belleair, Florida Sunday, Nov. 13 (Monday in Manila).
It was a third straight 68 for Saso, who tallied a three-round total of 204 and finished eight strokes behind eventual champion Nelly Korda.
Korda torched the course with seven birdies before bogeying the par-4 last hole to grab the crown with a closing 64 and a 196 total.
Saso, for her part, couldn’t find a more aggressive approach and wound up with three birdies against a lone bogey to tie with last week’s Toto Japan Classic champion Gemma Dryburgh, Yu Liu and Carlota Ciganda.
She pocketed $30,565 (around P1.7 million).
Fellow Tokyo Olympian Bianca Pagdanganan, meanwhile, carded an even-par 70 for 208 and a share of 30th place.
Pagdanganan, who posted 69 in her first two holes, had a rollercoaster round of five birdies against the same amount of bogeys to go home with a $13,907 consolation purse (around P790,000).
