Naked body of teenage girl found in Cebu – police

CEBU CITY – Police said the naked body of a 15-year-old girl was found in a grassy area in Barangay Gairan, Bogo City, northern Cebu on Sunday, Nov. 13.

The victim was identified as Jeanelle Maekylla Royos, a resident of Barangay Gairan.

Police said the body of Royos was found by a 47-year-old woman pasturing her goat at around 3 p.m.

Lt. Col. Florendo Fajardo, chief of the Bogo City police, said foul smell and a swarm of flies led to the discovery of the body.

According to Fajardo, the victim, a lesbian, attended a birth anniversary party together with her 19-year-old girlfriend on Friday night, Nov. 11.

They decided to go home past midnight on Saturday, Nov. 12.

The girlfriend told police that they left the party together but they parted ways to go home.

She said that she tried to contact Royos through Facebook Messenger when she arrived home but the victim did not respond.

Further investigation will be conducted to determine if there was foul play in the victim’s death, police said.
