Metro Manila's Covid-19 positivity rate drops to 7.5%

The positivity rate of Covid-19 in Metro Manila dropped to 7.5 percent on Nov. 12, from 8.2 percent on Nov. 5, OCTA Research fellow Dr. Guido David said on Monday, Nov. 14.
Positivity rate refers to the number of individuals who yielded positive results from among those who have been tested for Covid-19.
On Nov. 9, David said that if current trends continue, Metro Manila’s positivity rate will be below 5 percent by the end of November.
The World Health Organization-recommended positivity rate is 5 percent or less to show that the spread of the virus is under control.
David also noted that eight provinces in the country registered lower positivity rates this past week.
Positivity rates were down in Batangas (from 7.3 percent to 6.3 percent), Cavite (from 13 percent to 10.1 percent), Davao del Sur (from 15.3 percent to 8.7 percent), Iloilo (from 12.6 percent to 10.2 percent), Misamis Oriental (from 28.8 percent to 24.6 percent), Rizal (from 14.5 percent to 10.3 percent), South Cotabato (from 12.7 percent to 8.2 percent), and Zambales (from 11.3 percent to 7.6 percent).
