Illegal fish pens demolished in Dagupan

DAGUPAN CITY – The Task Force Bantay Ilog has started the demolition of illegal and oversized fish pens and fish cages in this city.

A notice of violation and demolition was given to owners and operators on Friday, Nov. 11.

The task force was accompanied in the demolition by the City Agriculture Office, Dagupan CDRMMO, city police, and Coast Guard.

Task force officer-in-charge City Agriculturist Patrick Dizon said seven illegal and oversized fish pens and cages were demolished in Barangay Bonuan Gueset, Pugaro-Suit, and Salapingao.

Most of them were abandoned, he said.

Their owners have signed a waiver allowing the task force to dismantle them.

Other illegal structures have also been demolished.

Demolition will continue in the next few days.
