Bulacan opens new BMC Outpatient Department building


Bulacan Gov. Daniel R. Fernando led the inauguration of the new Outpatient Department (OPD) building of the Bulacan Medical Center (BMC) in Barangay Guinhawa in the City of Malolos on Monday, Nov. 14.

The P49-million two-storey building was funded by the Department of Health (DOH) under the Health Facilities Enhancement Program (DOH-HFEP).

Provincial Health Officer II Dra. Hjordis Marushka Celis said the new outpatient department is open on weekdays, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., which can accommodate 300 to 400 patients per day.

On Saturdays, from 8 a.m. to 12 noon, it offer services limited to internal medicine and removal of sutures.

Each facility at the OPD will be managed by the section and department heads of the BMC including Family Planning, OB-Gyne, Surgery Department, Treatment/Excision, Laboratory, X-Ray Room, Medical Department, Psyche/EENT, IPCC/HESU, Animal Bite Training Center, Dental Clinic, Pedia/Under 5 Clinic, Sub-Specialty Area, Pediatric Department.

In his message, Fernando expressed his gratitude to the DOH for granting the province a new medical building.

Fernando reminded the staff to perform their duties with integrity and to serve the Bulakenyos in need with care and understanding.

The Bulacan governor also announced that the former outpatient department at the BMC will soon be the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences which also held its groundbreaking ceremony during the program.
