Myles Powell remained on a tear just two days removed after dropping a 50-point bomb.
The high-scoring import followed up his splendid scoring performance with 36 points to spearhead Bay Area to a 118-98 demolition of NLEX to boost its bid for one of the top two spots in the 2022 PBA Commissioner’s Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Sunday, Nov. 13.
The prolific 6-foot-2 combo guard rifled in 24 of his output in a searing first half that practically set the tone in the coast-to-coast triumph that hiked their record to an 8-2 win-loss slate in the standings.
Powell also added eight rebounds and six assists while Glenn Yang and Hayden Blankley added 15 and 13 points, respectively.
Up by only seven, 48-41, with only a little over four minutes left in the first half, the Dragons stepped their foot on the gas pedal with a back-breaking 16-4 run with Powell, Blankley and Yang drilling four three-pointers during that stretch to establish a huge 19-point lead, 64-45, at the half.
Bay Area then opened the second half with another 8-0 spurt that stretched the lead to its largest at 26, 71-45, before the Dragons simply kept the struggling Road Warriors at the rear for the rest of the game.
Earl Clark paced NLEX with 17 points and 11 rebounds while Don Trollano added 15. The efforts however proved to be futile against the Dragons who handed them their fourth straight loss for a 3-6 record in the standings.
