Cops seize over P251M worth of shabu in Cavite buy-bust

Anti-narcotics operatives of the Philippine National Police (PNP) seized over P251 million worth of suspected shabu in a buy-bust in Imus City in Cavite on Saturday night, Nov. 12.

Police Brig. Gen. Narciso Domingo, director of the PNP-Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG), said the operation also resulted in the arrest of couple Datu Ali Dayo Sampulna, 38; and Almira Karao Sampulna, 30, an online seller.

Domingo said they mapped out an operation based on the intelligence reports of the involvement of the Sampulna couple in illegal trade not only in Cavite but also in Cotabato City.

As soon as a PDEG operative was able to negotiate for the purchase of a large quantity of shabu, the policemen set up a buy-bust at around 7:30 p.m. on Saturday in Block 1, Lot 66, Happy Homes, Barangay Buhay na Tubig in Imus City.

The two were arrested after the transaction was completed, according to Domingo.

Seized were more or less 37 kilos of suspected shabu with a street value of P251.6 million, the marked money and the boodle money.

Domingo said the arrested suspects are now facing a string of drug charges.
