Provoked elderly man inflicts wound on drunk neighbor creating trouble in Batangas

MABINI, Batangas -- A 66-year-old man who was awakened by the loud noise of a drunk neighbor hacked the latter on Friday evening, Nov. 11, at Sitio Bagong Silang, Barangay Solo in this town.

The victim, drunk and making trouble in the neighborhood, was identified as Roberto Frigo, 50, single, and resident of Bagong Silang.

Police identified the suspect as Marciano Manalo, widower and a resident of the said village.

Based on a police investigation, around 11:20 p.m., the victim, who was under the influence of liquor, was making trouble and provoking anybody.

The suspect was awakened from sleep due to the loud knock on his door by the victim who was provoking him to come out.

The suspect was pacified by his son from coming but lost temper just the same.

The suspect grabbed a bolo, broke the glass window and waved his bolo, hitting the victim on his face.

The victim was brought to Batangas Medical Center while the Mabini Philippine National Police conducted a hot-pursuit operation which resulted in the arrest of the suspect.
