PH Red Cross deploys 'bakuna' bus in General Santos City


The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) deployed its "Bakuna" bus in General Santos City on Saturday, Nov. 12 to bring the Covid-19 vaccine closer to people.

The organization stated that as of writing, it has already fully vaccinated 76,876 individuals and inoculated boosters shots to 51,238 persons in Agusan del Norte, Bukidnon, Cotabato City, Davao City, General Santos City, Gingoog City, Iligan City, Lanao del Sur, Maguindanao, Misamis Oriental, Sarangani, Surigao del Norte, Sultan Kudarat, and Zamboanga City.

This was made possible through the "Bakuna" Bus, Bakuna Centers, and Bakuna Teams as well as through partnership with the International Committee of the Red Cross, PRC added.

Based on PRC's Nov. 10 record, a total of 1.2 million Covid-19 doses were already administered nationwide.

The "Bakuna" bus is a vehicle designed to safely store Covid-19 vaccines and other medical equipment needed for vaccination.

PRC said that it is their way of bringing the vaccine and Covid-19 information to people residing in hard-to-reach areas.
