Student killed by drunken uncle in accidental shooting in Nueva Ecija

GUIMBA, Nueva Ecija â€“ An 18-year-old student was accidentally shot and killed by his drunken uncle on Thursday, Nov. 10, in Barangay Balingog East here.

Police said the victim was a senior high school student and resident of the barangay.

Investigation said the suspect, Reuben Domingo, 54, was celebrating his birth anniversary when he drew a .45 caliber pistol and fired shots between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m.

A relative tried to calm him down but the intoxicated suspect continued to fire and accidentally shot his nephew who was sitting in front of him.

The victim sustained a bullet wound in the head and taken to a hospital here.

He was transferred to the Tarlac Provincial Hospital in Tarlac City where he died on Friday morning, Nov. 11.
