'Patay-gutom', 'wrong grammar': Guanzon shuts down troll on Twitter

It's quality entertainment whenever an online troll gets owned in his or her game.

P3PWD Party-list Rep. Rowena Guanzon did just that on Twitter when a netizen tried to rain on her parade after she had just tweeted a plug for Don Papa Rum. "Relax, Don Papa Rum muna . Product of Negro Occidental," she wrote.

Guanzon can be seen in an accompanying video declaring that the rum was "one of the best in the world".

Twitter user Silverio Garao then replied with this question: "Does a sitting member of Congress allowed to engage in product advertising?"

Clearly placed on the spot, the former Commission on Elections (Comelec) didn't let Garao off the hook that easily.

"Bakit mga patay gutom na trolls, wala kayong farm? Mamatay na kayo sa inggit (What's the matter you poor trolls, you don't have a farm? Just die of envy)," Guanzon responded.

She went on to warn her followers about the modus operandi of trolls, and even shared a hilarious way to spot one online.

"Fight Trolls. Block.report. They are still active, preparing for next 3 yrs until 2025 elections. But their wrong grammar gives them away. 'Does a sitting member of Congress allowed to engage in product advertising?'" she said, referring to Garao.

Guanzon served as Comelec commissioner from 2015 to 2022.
