Paeng Nepomuceno asserted his famed brilliance that made him the bowling's living legend after capturing the gold medal in the 16th Asian Senior Championships men’s singles 65+ division in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Thursday, Nov. 10.
The six-time world bowling champion scored 1264 pinfalls to bag the title and defeat Akira Nakada of Japan (1238) and Korean Jin Headong (1223) in the 65-above singles event.
The 65-year-old, who has kept three unbroken records in his bowling career, managed to beat 59 other participating bowlers in the same division.
Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) chairman Noli Eala took pride in the bowling legend’s win on his Twitter page.
“Bowling Hall of Famer and legend Paeng Nepomuceno of the Phl won GOLD in the singles of the Asian Seniors age 65+ category. Paeng averaged 210 in 6 games to stamp his class once more. Congrats Paeng! You continue to make us proud. Mabuhay!
