Man arrested for exposing sex videos of former girlfriend

PAMPANGA -- A construction worker was arrested by the Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit 3 (RACU 3) for uploading and exposing indecent video of his former girlfriend.

Report from the Philippine National Police Anti Cybercrime Group identified the suspect as Jerome Villacorteza, who met the victim in an Online Dating Application ‘TIMO’ in June 2022.

The suspect and the girl developed mutual communication after they found themselves matched by the online apps.

After a series of exchanging messages thru the dating app, they became comfortable with each other and eventually shifted their conversation to “WhatsApp” and had a sensual video call.

Report from PNP-ACG revealed that during their video call, Jerome took screenshots of the victim doing their sexual act online.

Sometime in October, the victim decided to end their relationship and eventually blocked the suspect on the dating app.

The suspect got irked and eventually changed his profile picture on the dating apps with the illicit photo of the victim to gain her attention.

Subsequently, Jerome uploaded the victim’s indecent video to TIMO’s Party Group which was seen by other account owners of the apps, ACG said.

At this point, the victim confronted the suspect.

The suspect demanded a meet-up and sex in exchange for the deletion of the photos and videos. The victim sought the help of the authorities in a move which resulted in the arrest of the suspect.

The suspect was arrested on Nov. 7, 2022, at about 2:00 in the afternoon in a hotel in Mabalacat Pampanga.

Villacorteza is now facing Criminal Charges for violations of RA 9262 (Violence Against Women and their Children) and RA 9995 (Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism) both in relation to Sec 6 of RA 10175 (Cybercrime Prevention Act).

The suspect is currently in the custody of Mabalacat City Police Detention Facility.

“ACG would like to remind everyone to be cautious in sharing personal and intimate photos and videos of themselves which might be used against them by some unscrupulous individuals with bad intentions,” said BGen. Joel Doria, Director of ACG said.
